"The Hidden People" By Adhar Maheshwari

“The Hidden People” is my solo photography exhibition, on display at the Lalit Kala Academy from the 1st to the 7th of August. I do mostly street or documentary photography, making decisions about perspective, composition and direction in the heat of the moment. My intent is to convey an intimate portrait of life, and lives, in India. I love the process because it allows me to cheat time and space, and tell important stories about often unnoticed people. I’ve found stories of men deserting their villages, children building castles by the roadside, young blood confronting the government on underground walls – they’re all hidden. Silent and out of sight, but visible for anyone who truly wants to understand India. In the first week of August, I’d love to be your storyteller, to take you through the things I’ve seen with my lens. Looking forward to seeing you there. Speaker Names :
