As we celebrate the work of Clínica Esperanza/Hope Clinic
CEHC is going through some very difficult times right now and they are a valuable asset to our community. I ask all supporters of CHARITYRevolution to attend this event. If you are unable to do so please use the Share button and send this to friends and co-workers. It very important that we keep CEHC up and running in our community so that healthcare is within EVERYONE'S reach.
More on Clínica Esperanza/Hope Clinic (CEHC) was founded in August of 2007 by a group of medical volunteers based in Providence. In November 2009, CEHC opened a temporary clinic at the AIDS Care Ocean State Office, 557 Broad St., Providence. In May 2010, the CEHC opened its permanent facility at 60 Valley Street – a.k.a. “The Plant – in the Providence community of Olneyville.
CEHC believes good health care involves having the community coming together to be “a place to be healthy.” By working with local community groups and leaders, CEHC has developed a clinic that should meet the needs of the people within the community. Services will be tailored to be complementary to existing health care resources – including the Olneyville Community Health Center – in order to improve the quality of services and increase the number of patients receiving timely, effective and quality care.
We will be asking everyone for a $5 donation on this evening and raffle tickets will be $5 a piece.
"The Hidden People" by Adhar Maheshwari
“The Hidden People” is my solo photography exhibition, on display at the Lalit Kala Academy from the 1st to the 7th of August.
I do mostly street or documentary photography, making decisions about perspective, composition and direction in the heat of the moment. My intent is to convey an intimate portrait of life, and lives, in India. I love the process because it allows me to cheat time and space, and tell important stories about often unnoticed people.
I’ve found stories of men deserting their villages, children building castles by the roadside, young blood confronting the government on underground walls – they’re all hidden. Silent and out of sight, but visible for anyone who truly wants to understand India.
In the first week of August, I’d love to be your storyteller, to take you through the things I’ve seen with my lens. Looking forward to seeing you there.
